Re: Can't timeshift the 2nd wav after the cut (can move the 1st wav)

In order to move a clip, there has to be sufficient empty space to move the clip into. If the second clip in the second track won't slide to the right, it is probably because there is another audio clip in the way.

and I can replace the bad files on the flash drive
It could be the flash drive that is faulty, so if they do give you a download link, ensure that you get a good download on your hard drive and "copy" (rather than "move") the files to the flash drive.

Re: How to record specific application/game?

Probably best to look for a specialist "game recorder" application. General purpose audio recorders such as Audacity are not really suitable for recording games (though "may" work with "some" games).

I expect that the reason there has been no reply until now is because no-one else has this problem. Are you still seeing this problem?

Don't use alpha versions of software unless you are an expert.

The current version of Audacity for Windows / macOS is Audacity 2.3.0 and is available via the Audacity website: https://www.audacityteam.org/download/

Using a Yahama MG10 mixer to record into an HP Pavilion running Windows 10 and Audacity 2.1.2. Audacity 2.1.2 is very old. The current version is 2.3.0 (Audacity 2.3.1 is due to be released in January). You can get the current version via the Audacity website: https://www.audacityteam.org/download/...

Could it be that Dragon Natural Speaking is the problem?
Yes it could be that Dragon Natural Speaking is grabbing exclusive access to the recording device.
Try shutting down Dragon Natural Speaking completely (so that it is not running in the background) and then try a test recording.
