Re: Lame_enc.dll Audacity 2.3.0

From the Lame download page:
"RECOMMENDED Installer Package for Windows: Lame_v3.99.3_for_Windows.exe - (SHA256 SUM here)"

That is not "v 3.99.5".

Re: Inserting CD skip points?

Is possible to insert CD skip points into the transition points of the audio file so that when I play the cd in my car CD player I can skip along to a desired track? Yes, but you do that with the CD burning software rather than Audacity. To have skip points without gaps between the tracks, your CD ...

Re: Recording Podcast with mixer and multiple microphones

The product description says you can perform effects between the USB channels with no mention of it being a four-channel mixer. The manual says that the 12FX model can do 4 channels via USB. It doesn't say if ASIO is required to do that, so we don't know if 4 channel recording is supported by stand...

Audacity keeps telling me I'm using an outdated version of lame_enc.dll.
What is the exact message?

Did you install Lame according to these instructions: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/ins ... ml#winlame

Re: Recording Podcast with mixer and multiple microphones

Are you on Windows? Are you using Audacity 2.3.0? I'll assume both. Audacity can only record from one "device" at a time, so it is limited to recording the number of channels available from the device driver. Some device drivers may offer multiple (more than 2) channels, while others may b...

Re: Combining Multiple Audacity Files

I think you will find it easier to use separate files. You then don't need to worry about padding spaces between tracks with the exact amount of silence. I don't use Camtasia, but most video editing apps can adjust the volume of audio clips, and usually provide some basic audio effects. I would aim ...

After that, I want to combine all of those files (maybe 30-40) into a single audacity file.
Why not leave them separate?

However, I think it would far more preferable if Audacity introduced a non-destructive infrastructure.
That would be a completely new program (total rewrite from scratch, with different objectives).
