Re: How do you move 1 channel on a stereo track?
Hmm, how was I able to move one of the channels without splitting the track? That was a bug in some old versions of Audacity. In certain circumstances, dragging a stereo track would only drag one channel and not the other, but that was unpredictable and unintended (a bug). For stereo tracks, draggi...

Re: SIMPLE MULTI-TRACKING PROGRAM??
With suitable hardware, Audacity can record multiple channels (more than 2) at the same time. The important requirement is that the hardware (sound card) appears to Audacity as a multi-channel device, and that is dependent on the device drivers. Unfortunately, some manufacturers do not provide multi...

Re: Can't move envelope tool control points at end of track
The manual is written on a wiki rather than on GitHub.
I've added a short section about editing (moving) control points in the "alpha" manual (this will become the manual for Audacity 2.3.1)

Re: Audacity mistakenly treats (.au) files as missing
For projects that are only an unedited recording, the order of the AU files can be determined by their creation time. Once you start editing there is no way to determine the correct order other than from the AUP file. The AU files are named semi-randomly.

Re: How can I use Audacity with a foot pedal?
A foot pedal will only work with Audacity if the foot pedal can emulate key presses. Check your foot pedal documentation to see if your foot pedal can do this. If your foot pedal cannot emulate key presses, then it won't work with Audacity.

Re: Announcer sound effect
That is a synthetic voice created with a "text to speech" program. There are many text to speech programs (and on-line converters). Some are free and some cost $'s. Use your favourite search engine to find one with a voice that you like at a price that you like. Search term: "text to ...
