Unfortunately it appears that Roland only officially support up to "Mac OS X Mavericks (10.9)" with the UA-1EX

If your Mac has both USB2 and USB3 ports, try connecting the UA-1EX to the USB2 port.

I assume that you want to change the tempo without changing the pitch? If so, you will need to make a "Nyquist Macro" https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/nyquist_macros.html Unfortunately this does not appear to be possible in Audacity 2.3.0 or earlier. Release candidates for Audacity 2.3....
