Sure there is. You could save the project before closing (if you don't want to waste space on a project that you don't need, remove all of the tracks first so that it is an empty project).

No there isn't, but so long as you close Audacity properly that message should not appear.

LAME is for Exporting MP3 files. It is not used when importing files.

Import RAW is for importing headerless PCM files. It does not support IMA ADPCM.

Audacity is able to import normal ADPCM files, provided they are not corrupt or otherwise severely damaged.
