Re: Not Responsive

For a recording that is hours long, it can take a little while for Audacity to recalculate the waveform graphics when zooming out for the first time, especially on older or low spec hardware (For a 5 hour stereo recording at 44100 Hz sample rate, there are over 1.5 billion sample points to process)....

Re: BUG: Silence becomes noise after two normalizations

Maybe I did something else wrong. Perhaps you set the track format to 16-bit. If you did that then the first application of Normalize (or any other process) will create a very small amount of noise, which will then be amplified massively when you normalize the second time. It is highly recommended ...

Re: Audacity Crashing when applying Macro/Chains.

It may be one of the commands in the macro that is causing the crash. What is in the macro?

will be updating to 2.3.0 shortly.
Just a "heads up", Audacity 2.3.1 is due to be released in February. It is still worth updating to 2.3.0 in the meantime.

Re: Crash when applying Eq

I hope I posted this in the right place. I've moved your post to a new topic, which is better than trying to discus multiple issues in one topic thread. I updated to Audacity version 2.2.2 The current version for Windows is 2.3.0. It is available via the Audacity website: https://www.audacityteam.o...

Re: Need a vertical with focus on range from 0 to 10 dB

I agree that it would be nice to have an option to show "dB" in the normal "linear" track view, but how often do you actually need to see the dB scale? Given that it is easy to see in the default "linear" track view when a waveform is "about half the track height&q...

One specific macro or all macros?
If you make a new macro, does that trigger the crash?

Re: Multiple 'silence' editing

Adding markers while playing is easy. "Ctrl + M", then "Enter". and then apply a single 'silence between the markers' edit? That's possible to do with a "Nyquist Macro", but not easy. You would need to write a Nyquist Macro that reads the labels, works out which are the...

Re: Audacity skipping while recording?

I've used a normal mic with no problem I presume that you mean a microphone that plugs into your computer's "mic" mini-jack socket, and not a USB mic? Is the computer a laptop or full size? If it's a full size PC, try plugging the UR 22 into a USB socket on the back of the computer rather...
