You shouldn't be using Audacity 2.3.0 on Linux. The 2.3.0 release is for Windows and Mac only. I can reproduce the bug with Audacity 2.3.0 on Windows 10, but not with Audacity 2.3.1 alpha (scheduled for release next month), so it looks like the problem has been fixed.
