Re: Compiling Audacity for ASIO
This setup.h file is in the Include folder of wxWidgets3.1.1 I don't understand what you are saying. The only things I see in include folder ("wxWidgets/include/") are "msvc/wx" and "wx". I'm looking here: https://github.com/audacity/wxWidgets/tree/audacity-fixes-3.1.1...

There's also a keyboard shortcut: Ctrl+Shift+K
This extends a selection vertically to all tracks.

Re: Option to showing stereo or 5.1 sounds as mono.
A feature that is planned for the future (but don't hold your breath, it could be a long way off as there are very few developers, and lots to do), is to support multi-channel tracks. Currently we have mono (1 channel) or stereo (2 channel) tracks, but in the future Audacity could support 3, 4, 5, 6...

Re: Audacity Broken in Mint 19.1 Cinnamon
I wonder why the other programs Audacious and VLC work fine. Perhaps it's because they don't use the recording side of the device. Audacity loves the EMU I've also got an old SB / EMU 10k1 chip sound card tucked away somewhere. I used to use it on my old Windows 98 machine with the kX Proect driver...

Re: Stretching
If I open the wav-files which Audacity, remove clicks and save the aup-files again as wav-files, does the quality become bad (because of changing file type back and forth)? Because WAV format is very high quality, and Audacity data is extremely high quality, the conversion back and forth is likely ...

Re: Audacity 2.3.0 keeps crashing. Can I download 2.2.2 anywhere ?
One of my best tech "investments", was a NAS drive. I only use it for back-ups, and it's not very fast over wifi, but I can access it from all my computers, which makes it extremely convenient. It's also works with Windows, Mac and Linux. I'm not sure that I'd trust it as the only backup f...

Re: Audacity 2.3.0 keeps crashing. Can I download 2.2.2 anywhere ?
I have 6Gb spare on HD That's running pretty close to the edge. Just a few considerations: Note that "Safe-sleep" or "Suspend to disk" will dump the contents of RAM to disk, so that could be several GB. Even a 3 minute Audacity project can easily grow to half a Gig or more if yo...

Re: Apply effect to parts of selection found by SoundFinder.ny
What's the easiest way to achieve it? I don't think there's an easy way to do this, but ... is it possible to achieve something like this by making a Macro which would read a layer with labels (which SoundFinder.ny produces), select the first silent part on the selected track, apply Punch Paste, se...

Re: Adjust volume level on part of recording
The real solution is to re-record with your microphone(s) positioned and set to record both speakers at a good (not too high, not too low) level. Preferably this would be done with two microphones (one each), with one panned all the way to the left, and the other panned all the way to the right. Tha...

An hour of WAV, a CD's worth is about 650Mb. In Audacity, it's double that, because Audacity works in 32-bit float format (for best processing quality). Also, while working on a project, there is "Undo" data. For example, if you have a 1 hour stereo track in Audacity (about 1.4 GB), and A...
