Re: Repeat recording issue
P.S. Recording device is set to 'Microphone (USB Audio CODEC), which is what I need for the PC to be able to hear the desk. Is that the only USB Recording option in the device toolbar ? What are the "host" and "playback" settings? Where are your headphones plugged in? (I assume ...

Re: Distorted backing track only when recording OD
Audacity does not ship with ASIO support (due to licensing issues), so you will not be able to record using ASIO. Also, when ASIO is running, it tries to take exclusive control of the audio device, so it will interfere with non-ASIO applications. It's OK for ASIO to be installed, but if it is runnin...

Re: Can't record from line input (sound playback)
The laptops show an awful lot of input entities in audacity as well. I have a photo here: That's a lot of inputs  Try this, so that we can get a good report of what Audacity sees: 1) Reboot the computer 2) Launch Audacity 3) "Help menu > Audio device info". Wait for the "info&...

Re: For ACX users
Compress Dyn (.95,.5,-49,2,.99,0) That is a lot of dynamic compression. A lot more than should be used for an audiobook recording. Temporarily adding a "Tone" ("Generate" menu) to the track, and increasing the "floor" setting (move the slider toward the right), should ...

Re: phantom clicks
I hear it but no click shows in the waveform. Actually, the clicks show up very clearly in the spectrogram track view: firsttrack001.png and they show up in the normal waveform view if you zoom in close enough (see the sudden "step" in the waveform): firsttrack000.png The other problem th...

Yes, I'm still here,
though sadly, Gale Andrews passed away in 2017 (https://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/User:Galeandrews).

Re: Boss Amp Input Okay, No recording (with pictures)
The input is being detected in Audacity as the first image below shows, there is a green bars in the 'microphone' input (on the top right of Audacity UI) coming from the 'IN' Acoustic Singer. The signal level shown (about -46 dB) is so low that it will not be visible, are barely audible. If you Amp...

Re: Repeat recording issue
How are you recording the instruments? (for example: "I am using a Samson CU1 microphone, plugged into a Fostex Phoenix II USB pre-amp, which is connected to the computer with a USB cable.") What have you set as the "host", "Recording Device" and "Playback Device&q...
