Re: Taking Forever to Load, Sometimes Crashes
Check that your sound card drivers are the correct drivers from the manufacturer (not just generic Windows drivers). For laptop computers, drivers are usually available from the manufacturer's website. If you are having general problems with the laptop, it will probably be worth installing the full ...

Re: somehow messed up my songs with reverb
The problem is that the mix is too loud. This has caused the peaks to be clipped off, resulting in that nasty distorted sound (see the flat tops / bottoms where the blue waveform smashes into the top / bottom of the track). First Track000.png When working with multiple tracks, it's a good idea to mi...

Re: ACX Check plugin won't load
As for the ACX Check plug in, I was able to successfully enable that in the Plug-ins menu in Audacity after searching my computer for the 'hidden' library referenced above. I guess I somehow missed that there were two libraries with the same things in them so I kept dropping ACX in a folder that lo...

Re: ACX Check plugin won't load
1. Creating a test audio file 2. Going to 'File' 3. Then 'export' 4. Then 'mp3' will be an export option If LAME is not installed correctly, then there will still be an "option" to export as MP3, but the export will fail, with an error message to say that LAME could not be found (so this ...

Re: For Dolby Stereo
Dolby Stereo is a trademark of Dolby Laboratories. For true "Dolby Stereo", you would need a plug-in from, or licensed by Dolby Laboratories. Such plug-ins do exist, but (a) they are very expensive (around $700 USD) and (b) they may now work with Audacity (though I've not tested). If you j...

Re: Mismatch between the program and library build versions
Do I understand from your question above that the ASIO version of Audacity will not launch (and in fact will fail catastrophically) unless an ASIO device is connected to the system at application launch time? No, Audacity built with ASIO "should" work whether ASIO drivers are available or...

Re: Continue recording on same track?
If you are using the current Audacity 2.3.0, see here: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/pun ... ecord.html
If you are using an older version, you will need to get the current version: https://www.audacityteam.org/download/windows/

Re: [Bug] Macro hotkeys dont work during playback
You're correct about the behaviour, but it's not a bug, it's a limitation of the design. "Macros" are not (and not intended to be) a full featured "scripting" interface. For that you would need the experimental " mod-script-pipe ", but that's not quite ready for prime-t...

Re: Aud 2.3.0, Max OSX10.11.6, Recovering files
What do I do in the future to avoid this? I assume just keep the data and aup files separate? Normally when you save a project, it creates an "AUP" file and a "_data" folder, alongside each other. The "_data" folder contains the audio data, and the "AUP" file...

Re: Aud 2.3.0, Max OSX10.11.6, Recovering files
OK, so let's say that on your Desktop there is a folder called "podcasts", and that the "EP003NateHarvey_data" folder is in "poscasts". That would give you: Desktop > podcasts > EP003NateHarvey_data > EP003NateHarvey.aup (this is wrong) and Desktop > podcasts > EP003Nat...
