Yeah but it would be best if the author made the change in a way that matches the rest of the theme.

Perhaps he likes the high contrast of selected audio. It's certainly very easy to see which audio is selected.

No. Audacity could be updated to use a later version of FFmpeg, but from what I hear from some very experienced developers, it's a big and difficult job. Volunteers are welcome.

If the selection colour could be made less bright, maybe to some lighter but still dark shade of blue, then I would use this theme in a heartbeat.
