Re: I don't even know what to title this but I need help

the most current/up to date version The most recent version is "Audacity 2.3.1 RC03", but I doubt that you have that version. Look in "Help menu > About Audacity" for the version number. If you have an earlier version than 2.3.0, I would suggest that you get the Audacity "E...

Re: how to fix corrupted m4a file from iPhones Voice Memo App

My plan is to import the file into Audacity as raw data, That won't work. "RAW data" import is for uncompressed "PCM" audio data. "MP4" is compressed / encoded audio, so importing it as RAW data you will just get noise. can somebody figure out what settings I have to u...

Re: Align two music tracks in audacity

So you have a "karaoke" MP3 version without the lead vocal, and a "CD" version (the original song with vocals).

Why do you need the CD version?
Can't you use the karaoke version throughout the process?

Is it because you are making karaoke versions of songs that you don't know?

Re: track length problems with MP3 exports

I always thought MP3's insistence on waiting for non-existant video framing information resulted in the timing problems, but maybe not. If you think of the MP3 encoder as a black box, with a series of numbers (the sample values) going into the box, and a stream of numbers (the MP3 stream) coming ou...

Re: MPEG-4 Audio File (Protected)

Audacity does not support encrypted files or DRM . Audio files are sometimes encrypted to prevent digital copying, and in such cases it should be clear in the terms of sale / licensing terms, that copying the file is not permitted. If that is not clear in the terms, then you probably have a good cas...

Re: How to search Audacity Manual

The release version of the manual does not have a built-in search engine. However, you can easily search the on-line version using Google. For example, if you want to search for "crossfade tracks", use this as the search term: site:https://manual.audacityteam.org/ "crossfade tracks&qu...

Using Karaoke Builder Studio (other software is available) I synchronise the lyrics to the music Which / what music are you synchronising to? I don't understand why you have two different versions of the music. You said that you have an MP3 version of the music. Where does the other version of the ...

Re: AT2020usb+ connection

OK, I think the privacy setting is only in Mojave (I don't have that setting in High Sierra). Which version of Audacity? The current version is 2.3.0, and is available via the Audacity website: https://www.audacityteam.org/download/mac/ The error messages are slightly different is 2.3.0 than in prev...

Re: combining track clips

Import all of the files into one Audacity project. If necessary, order the tracks so that the first segment is at the top and the last at the bottom (https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/audio_track_dropdown_menu.html#move) Align the tracks end to end (https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/tracks_menu...
