Re: After upgrade to 2.2.2, no spanish language

Unfortunately I don't understand Spanish well enough to be able to use a computer that has Spanish as the system language, but I've tested the underlying mechanism by setting a Ubuntu 18.04 system to French (system wide setting). I then installed Audacity 2.3.1 from https://launchpad.net/~ubuntuhand...

Re: ACX say my RMS is too low

They all appear to be within ACX stated requirements The file “NEW CHAPTER FIFTEEN LAME ACX MCCD.mp3” is NOT within ACX stated requirements. The "Contrast" tool is Audacity's built-in effect for measuring RMS level. The reason that I suggested using "Contrast" is that it rules o...

Re: Audacity Quit Unexpectedly

I don't think that anyone in the Audacity team has Mountain Lion, so I doubt that we can do much about this unless we receive other reports of the same problem from other Mountain Lion users. I'll ask about this on the developer's mailing list, but in the meantime there are some workarounds that com...

Re: Installing Effects Plugins Into Audacity Package Contents

Can I put all the plugins in the Package Contents Audacity app icon instead of the User Library? That is not recommended. The Package Contents should contain plug-ins that are shipped with Audacity. Future upgrades may overwrite these files. Custom / 3rd party Nyquist plug-ins should be placed in: ...

Re: Electrical Noise Recording Electric Guitar into Laptop/Audacity

Using the auxillary speaker out on my Crate guitar amp Not a good idea. Other than sound quality problems being very likely, there is a serious risk of blowing the inputs of the UCA222. Unplugging the computer helps a lot Sounds like a good clue. Crate GX-25M As Crate have been shut down for quite ...

Re: Vocal/Music Rendering

Arguably the most important thing is to get the relative levels of vocals to backing right. If the vocal is much louder than the backing, it will not sound right. If the backing is much louder than the vocal, it will not sound right. If the level of the vocal is inconsistent, it will not sound right...

Re: Cannot open Audacity

it kept saying I did not have the correct installer for m4a files You need to be much more precise. What was the actual message (in full)? Then, when I tried to install the driver What exactly did you install? the app completely stopped working. You mean it would not launch, or it would launch and ...

Re: Converting Raw Data from recording session

the only time I can get the audio to convert is when I select "10%" of the audio to be converted, that gives me 17min of solid audio, however anything larger than that, and it seems like audacity just times out and gives up, possibly because the file size is too big. That's probably not t...

Re: Mute / Solo behavior changed

Audacity has two "modes" available for the behaviour of solo / mute buttons: "Simple" and "Multi-track". The default in recent versions of Audacity is "Simple". In this mode, if you have two tracks, let's call them "A" and "B": Click "...

I wonder if anyone’s done a
sound comparison between the Zoom and mic alone vs. the same but with attached laptop...
I have with the Zoom H2. The difference was unsurprising - when used standalone, it didn't pick up any fan noise.
