Re: Any way to remove echo here?
Can you elaborate as to why a bit more, Steve? I have a few recordings similar to this too which I have a hard time giving up on. An echo is basically an overlapping copy of the original voice. To remove the echo voice without removing the original voice, the computer would need to be able to diffe...

Re: Toolbar buttons don't react to touchscreen input
This seems to be the only thread without a reply... :( That'll be because none of the regular forum helpers know the answer. Although we know that Audacity can be built for Raspberry Pi, the Pi is not yet officially supported (it is possible that it may be supported in the future, but we don't curr...

Re: Segmentation fault at start (SIGSEGV)
I'm not sure the version it applies That is pretty important information. For bug fixing purposes, the more precise the better. on the git master branch. Assuming that you are referring to Audacity's git master, and assuming that you downloaded it after 8th March, it will be Audacity 2.3.2 alpha. T...

Re: Installing Effects Plugins Into Audacity Package Contents
I take it to stop either of these Channel Mixer listings from showing up in the Plugins Add/Remove list is to reinstall Audacity? Audacity has three main configuration files: audacity.cfg This stores your user preferences, recently used files list, and other Audacity settings. pluginregistry.cfg Th...

Re: Audacity 2.3.1 does not open due to "missing file"
The easiest solution is to download the "Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 " from Microsoft, and install it. This is the required updates in one "redistributable" package: https://www.microsoft.com/en-ie/download/details.aspx?id=48145 Check that your computer meet...

Re: Trouble picking up second mic audio
What exactly do you mean by "one microphone at a time"? When would one work, and when would the other work?

Re: Two voices - not recording equally
The first thing that I would do is to test that both of these microphones are working correctly (my personal experience of these mics has not been good). 1) Connect one mic to channel 1 of the Xenyx, and the other to channel 2. 2) Position both mics next to each other, on stands, about 30 cm from yo...

Re: Please advise on best order of applying effects
It probably also didn't pick up any clicking, ticking, popping, gaps, skipping, volume problems, compression defects, echo suppression artifacts or noise reduction distortion True, but I didn't have any of those problems when using it attached to my Linux laptop. The only problem I had was fan noise.

Re: Local manual not recognized
Yes, you can manually (pun intended) create a new folder "/usr/share/audacity/manual" and then move the "help" folder and all of its contents into the new folder. The easiest way to do this is to launch your file browser with root privileges. For example, if your default file bro...

Re: ACX say my RMS is too low
So as to avoid jumping ahead and us not understanding each other, let's do this step by step. You previously wrote that when you imported “NEW CHAPTER FIFTEEN LAME ACX MCCD.mp3”, the Contrast tool measured the RMS level as "-38.31" dB. Please repeat that test, but use "ACX Check"...
