Re: Audacity Frozen stiff
Hoping to help. Thanks for the offer :-) What I'd like you to try (Exit Audacity before each test): Test 1: 1) Launch Audacity 2) Import a "virgin" WAV file 3) From the "Edit" menu, open "Metadata Editor", and click OK. Hopefully Audacity will not be frozen. Test 2: 1)...

Re: Offline use question
Is Audacity one of those softwares that needs to go online to the mothership to stay operational ? No. Audacity does not need to go on-line (and doesn't go on-line). You would only need an Internet connection if you installed a version of Audacity without the manual, in which case you would need In...

Re: Can't delete or remove blank space at end of track
On Linux, Audacity may be 32-bit or 64-bit, depending on whether it is built on a 32-bit or 64-bit system.

Re: Can I avoid confirmation pop-up before closing a file?
Is there a way to avoid the pop-up confirmation No there isn't. Closing the project is final - once it's gone it's gone. The Audacity team are of the long held opinion that closing an unsaved project without warning would be negligent / foolhardy / dangerous. For the sake of ONE click per project.....

Your version of Audacity may be too old. The current version is 2.3.1 and it is available via the Audacity website: https://www.audacityteam.org/download/

Re: Random loss of sound - Audacity 2.3.0
I'm wondering if your system is getting close to the maximum number of tracks that it can handle. One way to test is to see if we can make the problem worse. Add a few new audio tracks, and generate some silence into them. Does that make the problem noticeably worse?

Re: accompaniment channel bleeding into vox
The Behringer desks are worth a look. They frequently get criticised in reviews because they are "cheap", which I think is a bit unfair as they are catering to a specific market segment. They have no intention of competing with "premium" range desks that cost several times more, ...

Re: A true find and replace/delete function
I am looking for a feature that would let you select a portion of the waveform, have Audacity recognize it and find all similar waveforms in length and amplitude While searching based on length and peak amplitude would not be very difficult to implement, it would be hopelessly inaccurate. For accur...
