Re: Random loss of sound - Audacity 2.3.0
I added new tracks (more than ten), generated silence, then generated noise. No change, still the same place stays silent Thanks for checking. That would appear to rule out that possibility, so we move on... I have multi-(50)-track project and on two places of the project there is a sudden silence ...

Re: Problem with Drag and Drop In Audacity
The problem is with audio files though What sort of audio files? What is the file format? What is the full and exact error message when you attempt to drag and drop one of these files into an Audacity project? What happens if you try to import these files using "File menu > Import > Audio"?

Re: Recover a corrupted saved file on audacity
That bottom track looks very weird. I doubt that we will be able to recover anything from this project, but I'm interested to know what went wrong here - I can't think of anything that could cause the third track to look like that. I recorded an hour and a half podcast and asaced the file but my Mac...

Re: accompaniment channel bleeding into vox
There is one possible shortcoming. The UCA202 has no volume controls and your reel-to-reel, unless it's a floor-standing model, has no output volume controls. So there is no way to compensate for a "hot" tape. Once you digitize with clipping or overload, that's the end of the world. That'...

You're welcome, and thanks for confirming.
As you're happy with the solution, I'll close this topic as "solved" (though arguably not really "solved" until Microsoft improve their window manager

Me neither, but having argued the case so many times before, I'm not sure I have the will to do so again

Re: Option to make Mixer Board Always on Top
Managing an application's windows is really the job of the "window manager", which is part of the operating system. On Linux, you can right click on the Mixer Board window and select "Always on Top". Sadly, Microsoft Windows does not have this facility. Some possible solutions in...

Re: Bring out voice in poor quality recording
You need to rerecord. The recording is trash.

Re: Offline use question
Probably best not. The portable version does not include the manual, so Internet access would be required to view any of the help pages.Katzenfreund wrote: ↑Sat Apr 13, 2019 5:26 pmI'd suggest you also try the portable version that doesn't need installation.
Better that we find out what the problem is with the installed version.

Re: Transferring Audio To Computer Loses Part of Recording
For example, I edited a 1 hour and 34 minute audio clip down to 1 hour 17 minutes and 30 seconds. When I saved it to my computer, it only would save 1 hour 17 minutes and 1 second. The odd thing is that when I play it on windows media player, it will play the whole thing, even though the file is 30...
