Re: Niquist ACX check nightmare
My idea is that if your noise floor is okay, RMS okay, volume etc all set surely you do not need this plug in anyway. The point of the ACX plug-in is to alert you if your noise floor or RMS or peak level appear to not be OK. Thus giving you an opportunity to fix the problem rather than waiting for ...

Re: Does the latest Audacity have Volume Automation?
I just realized adding reverb to a track is one basic I could use. See: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/reverb.html Audacity also supports a wide range of 3rd party plug-ins (see: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/customization.html#plug-ins) A nice, free VST Reverb for Windows is "Anwid...

Re: "save", "save as" function
So I don't see what the problem is :? The problem is that the export directory defaults to the last used export directory, which may be different from the last used import directory. Many DAWs will use WAV files in a "project" directory as their audio data. While DAWs can be very good for...

Re: "save", "save as" function
The problem is that Audacity does not work directly on audio files, it works on "projects". When you import an audio file into Audacity, Audacity copies the audio data from the file into the Audacity project. Audacity can't "save the file" because Audacity doesn't have "the ...

Phase Cancellation: Try this as an experiment: Launch Audacity Generate a tone (Generate menu) Play - check that you can hear the "beeep" Select All (Ctrl + A) Amplify the track to about -10 dB (minus 10) so that it is not too loud (Effect menu > Amplify) Duplicate the track (Ctrl + D) Se...

Does the file that you are trying to import play in any media player?
Could the file be DRM protected? (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_rights_management)

Re: I can't import music for background of voice HELP
LAME is used for exporting MP3 files.
Audacity can import MP3 files on it's own (LAME not needed for importing MP3, only for exporting)
FFmpeg is required for importing or exporting WMA, AAC, AC3, M4A and various other "non-free" audio formats.

Re: I'd like to remove a laugh track from a sitcom
the audio is in 5.1. It seems like the audio is distributed thus: Front left and right: dialogue, laugh track, music. Front centre: dialogue. Rear left and right: music. Assuming that is correct: 1) Import the file ("File menu > Import > Audio") The file should import as 6 audio channels....
