Is step #5 possible? Can you replace the base audio, keeping the clip timing intact? No, but you could add a label track, and label each clip, then after you've replaced the audio track, split it based on the labels. Shure, we could do a chapter per project, but you will lose the capacity to export at once, with the practicalidad of uniques ID3 metadatas in the mp3 and the complexity to manage the edition for the person who re-listen to the book. Most audiobook publishers require each chapter as a separate file...
