Check that you have plenty of space available in your Documents folder, then: 1) Launch Audacity (if it's already open, close it and relaunch Audacity). 2) Open the problem project 3) Save the project with a new, unique name to Documents. The change is most likely due to changes in Windows.
Does your Windows sound system have an option to record "Stereo Mix" or "What U Hear"? If it does, then try recording from that. If it doesn't, then I doubt that you will be able to do what you want.

Every time I try to record now, symbol turns red and dosent move. My guess it that you have WASAPI selected as the audio "host" in the device toolbar . Try changing that to MME, and select the "audio box usb" as the recording device. The playback device should be set to whatever...
