Re: audacity.cfg recentfiles

Putting it all in a folder defies the objective of having several projects. It becomes a pandora's box which is contrary to the tenets of organization. Then how about taking a leaf out of the Unix book and create symbolic links to each of the files and put the sym links into one folder? (or hard li...

Re: Audacity Crashes When I Try to Export

Check that you have plenty of space available in your Documents folder, then: 1) Launch Audacity (if it's already open, close it and relaunch Audacity). 2) Open the problem project 3) Save the project with a new, unique name to Documents. If any error messages or warnings appear, make a note of them...

Yes, I can confirm. Double clicking or using the open command does work.
What did you do? Just comment out the "#if !defined(__WXMAC__)" and "#endif"?

May I say an "intended discrepancy" instead?

Indeed, "intended behaviours" are not always "good" decisions.

Correct, so I removed this and recompiled on a mac to make it work for me.
Does this still work in your modified version:

Code: Select all

open "<path>/<file name>.aup"
Can you still open projects by double clicking on them?

this is a planned bug
An "intended behaviour". By definition, bugs are unintended.

If I receive more information from the developers of "why" this is intended, I'll post that info here.

Re: Cannot record audio from computer and interface simultaneously

The change is most likely due to changes in Windows.

Does your Windows sound system have an option to record "Stereo Mix" or "What U Hear"? If it does, then try recording from that. If it doesn't, then I doubt that you will be able to do what you want.

Re: My stuff quit recording

Every time I try to record now, symbol turns red and dosent move. My guess it that you have WASAPI selected as the audio "host" in the device toolbar . Try changing that to MME, and select the "audio box usb" as the recording device. The playback device should be set to whatever...

2.2.1 thru audio box usb
Audacity 2.2.1 is obsolete. The current version is 2.3.1 and is available via the Audacity website: https://www.audacityteam.org/download/windows/

After sending wav file to Levelator
How are you doing that?

Is this really a question about Audacity, or about Levelator?
Are you aware that Levelator is obsolete and no longer supported by the makers of that app (since 2012)?
