Re: Recording a Skype conversations

I never, ever had this problem when I was using my old XP PC with Sound Blaster's "What U Hear" option. Sound Blaster's "What U Hear" option was one of the few options that usually did work for recording Skype. That was a nice feature, but you just had to be careful to mute any ...

Re: Import multiple audio piece from vegas pro 15

Perhaps you could export the audio track from Vegas Pro as a single WAV file, and then import that into Audacity.

Do you know if any of these models will work with Audacity
No, none of them will. Audacity does not support MIDI recording, only "audio".

I wonder how many people are expecting content to be labeled, not time. I suspect most of us.
I suspect most of you that are from video editing backgrounds. The concept of "time" markers is pretty common in audio software.

Re: Recording a Skype conversations

I'd still like to know how to record a Skype conversation directly on Audacity. As Koz wrote, that is difficult to do reliably on Windows or Mac. One some Windows machines it is possible to record both sides of a Skype conversation by setting Audacity to record from "Stereo Mix". This doe...

Other programs think everything is OK if you save anything and only warn if you save nothing.
Most DAWs require that you save the project before you can do anything.

The only issue is the waveform is too small. Generally does not go above -0.3.
Can you not increase the gain on the Scarlett Solo interface?
To set the gain, turn it up until the LED just starts to go red when you speak loudly, then back it off a fraction.

Re: Are there no markers in this application?

markers don't adjust when you make edits to that audio. Labels will adjust if you enable Sync-Lock. If you are working with multi-track projects, you can have multiple Sync-Locked track groups. https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/sync_locked_track_groups.html They aren't useful for selecting audio....

Re: Change of file length after adding to iTunes library

The problem appears to be specific to files with ".m4a" file extension in very recent versions of iTunes. An easy workaround is to give the files a file extension ".mp4". There's no need to re-encode, ".mp4" is a valid extension for .m4a files (as is ".aac", b...
