Re: HELP!! How to Recover Files after Audacity Crashed (recording blank)
The current version of Audacity (2.3.1) is pretty robust against data loss, and in the event of a crash, automatic crash recovery is usually very effective. However, if automatic crash recovery fails, then you will probably have to fall back on your backups.

Re: no sound from computer when playing cassette
Ensure that you have the appropriate playback device selected in the device toolbar, and "Software Playthrough" is enabled in the "Transport Options": https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/tra ... tions.html

Re: Picking sound source from among many
How many of the sound sources have "USB" in the name?
It may be easier to read the names if you look in the "Audio Device Info" (https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/hel ... stics.html)

Re: Help to identify what is the BEST tools for Audio Book.
Two prerequisites for a good audiobook recording:
1) A very quiet and substantially echo-free recording location.
2) A strong, clean signal from the microphone to the computer.
Those are the two things that you need to address first.

Re: Issue with larger image
At first I thought it was a memory issue but I can upload images of 7.5mb with dimensions of 3600px x 2700px but not 1mb with dimensions of 4000px x 3000px. Does this have anything to do with Audacity? Which version of Audacity are you using? What operating system are you using? What is your connec...

Do you need any of the crashed projects that are being offered for recovery?

Re: Issue with reproduction of recordings in wav
I have a problem with the reproduction of recordings in wav format. Pressing play only sounds a loud noise and if the file is 10 minutes shortens it to 8 seconds It's probably not a valid WAV file. Try installing MediaInfo (available in the Ubuntu repository). Open the files with MediaInfo and it w...

Re: frequent freezes on Ubuntu 16.04
Those messages are not related to the freezing problem.
The easiest, (and effective) workaround for the PulseAuio freeze bug, is to select the "hw" device that corresponds to the device that you are using (in the recording and playback options of the device toolbar)

Re: Issue with larger image
How do you make the viewing image larger, I presume that you are referring to the audio track's waveform display? If you click on the bottom of the track, you can drag it down to make the waveform taller. There are also "Zoom tools" for zooming in vertically or horizontally on the wavefor...
