Probably 5+ years old.
Probably even older.

Compress all sound from .22 seconds to 1.00 seconds by 50%
and
Truncate all sound 1.00 seconds to 2.00 seconds to 1.00
Does your audio contain many silences longer that 2 seconds?

Truncate silence from .25 to 1.0 by 50% and leave all silence above 50% as is.
I can't work out what you mean. Truncate Silence has not changed for a very long time, so unless you were using an ancient version of Audacity, it has not changed. Perhaps you could describe an actual example?

Re: Use emulated volume instead of system volume

Audacity has only one playback volume control and it is not configurable. The exact behaviour is dependent on the sound card drivers.

How do I set Audacity to use the emulated volume instead of the system volume?
Audacity can't do that. You need to use the sound card's GUI rather than Audacity's GUI.

Re: Labels to id3v2 mp3 chapters spec

If I use FFmpeg -I on that out.mp3 file, it reports the chapters are there, with exactly what was in the metadata.txt for it. ... when I open it in an application that supports chapters, they aren't present. That's a shame - so close and yet so far :( You might like to try experimenting with Audaci...

Re: Recording above 44.1 Sampling Rate

Bit depth at 32-bit float is highly recommended. This doesn't really affect recording, but it does improve efficiency, quality and safety when processing. Usually I record at 44100 Hz sample rate, which avoids unnecessary resampling later in the production process. I have used higher sample rates on...

Re: Effect from Amplitube 4 to Audacity

Audacity on Windows is currently only available as a 32-bit application and so can only run 32-bit plug-ins. Amplitude 4 is only available as a 64-bit application so it won't work in Audacity. However, Amplitude 4 can also be run as a stand-alone application. When run as a stand-alone application, i...

Re: Compression ratio

In the Audacity compressor effect, there's two numbers, separated by a colon (":")
The first number may be a decimal (for example "3.5")
The second number is always a "1"
The two numbers together is the compression ratio (for example "3.5:1")

Re: noise added above 13 kHz

I think the spectrum and the sound should not change at all when only simple editing is involved. I agree, but: 1) In the vast majority of cases, people also apply some kind of processing, such as normalizing, fading ... 2) Determining whether sample values have changed during the course of working...
