Re: Is it advisable to first uninstall LAME before installing new Audacity 2.3.2?

As far as I'm aware, it is not necessary to install the old version of LAME. Audacity 2.3.2 should automatically use the version of LAME that is shipped with it. On the other hand, there is probably no reason to retain the old version of LAME (unless you have configured some other program to use it,...

Re: 2.3.0 Debug Error

The current version of Audacity is 2.3.2 It is not possible to fix old versions of Audacity because they are already released and will not be re-released. Any fixes that are implemented will only apply to the next Audacity release. If you are reporting a bug that occurs in the current release versio...

Re: Disabling selection by clicking on neutral gray area of the Track Control Panel

That can't be turned off.
If you frequently click in the wrong place, perhaps you need a better mouse mat. If you use an optical mouse, plain coloured mouse mats will often work more reliably than multi-coloured ones. If you use a wireless mouse, ensure that that the batteries have plenty of charge.

Re: Is ACX Check Lying to Me?

I am baffled as to how I am passing when I am using low end equipment. There are several things working in your favour that cause problems for others: 1) You appear to be recording in a very quiet, substantially echo free environment. This is the BIG one. If you record in a kitchen, surrounded by h...

Re: Transport section etc separate from audio

This problem of "scattered toolbars" seems to happen occasionally when very old versions of Audacity are updated to the latest version. I'm not sure exactly what causes it as I've not been able to reproduce the problem myself, but the "fix" is very simple: View menu > Toolbars > ...

Re: Shortcut for re-importing?

Import two tracks -> mute one track -> delete muted one -> re-import a new track -> see new track muted by default. That is not a bug in itself. On muting the first track, the second track is soled (solo button is down), so it is correct that imported tracks should be automatically muted because wh...

i changed from windows 7 to windows 10
Do you mean that you upgraded Windows from 7 to 10?
If so, is your Audacity installation one that has carried over from when you had Windows 7?

and was told today that I accidentally cut out a sentence, and I need to insert that piece of audio in the middle of my recording.
Do you still have that sentence in an audio file, or do you need to re-record it?
