Re: Audacity v slow to start.
Yes, pulseaudio is running. At least it has an entry in ps. But when I say 'pactl list' it says 'Connection refused' You've found the problem. You can see the same thing in the terminal output when launching Audacity. It gets to the point where it tries to connect to PulseAudio, but does not succee...

Re: Macro : Split Stereo to Mono
'Audio Track' --> 'Split Stereo to Mono' function? That command does not exist, but you can get the same effect another way. For example, if the project contains only one stereo track: SelectAll: Duplicate: SelectTracks:Mode="Set" Track="0.5" TrackCount="0.5" Silence:U...

Re: Why Are New Tracks Always Added to the End? You Should be Able to Add Them After the Selected Track
Now if I can just figure out how to map both that script and the other one you helped me write (viewtopic.php?p=369068#p369068) to keyboard short-cuts, so I don't have to go Menu => Tools => Nyquist Prompt => Load => Select Appropriate File => OK every time I want to switch between them, I'll truly...

Re: Cannot Open Large Files
On import, Audacity will try to uncompress the file. That will require several GB of available disk space just to import the file. Any editing or processing will require additional disk space. As an absolute minimum I'd say you will need around 20 GB of available space, and more if you intend to pro...

Re: trim audio and delete grayed out
To select the audio, click and drag on the audio itself (the blue wiggly waveform), rather than the Timeline above the tracks. Note that if you have multiple tracks in the project, you can click and drag across multiple tracks to make the same selection in each track. More information about selectin...

Re: Scheda berighner u-phoris umc404
I don't have a Behringer UMC-404, so I don't know whether Windows drivers provide any 4 channel recording option that Audacity can use. "Audio device info" displays a list of all available sound card drivers. IF there is a 4-channel option shown there, then Audacity should be able to use i...
