Why are you recording as stereo? The Blue Yeti microphone is a mono microphone.

For the record, I disagree. Audacity is officially described as a "multi-track audio editor and recorder".

Audacity requires gtk2.

Check your computer power saving settings. Does anything go to sleep after 10 minutes?

(For Linux there is "Jack Meterbridge" which works well with Audacity http://plugin.org.uk/meterbridge/)
