Re: How to record 2 tracks from separate sources into 2 tracks?
Audacity only supports recording from one audio device at a time. If you need to record more than 2 channels, you need an audio device that supports more than 2 channels, AND, supports more than 2 channels with standard Windows drivers (Audacity cannot ship with ASIO support due to licensing restric...

Re: Export MP3 Option Doubling year/comment entries
I'm not familiar with those programs, but perhaps it indicates different ID3 versions?
Audacity's metadata tagging is pretty basic. If tags are particularly important for your use case, it's better to use a specialist tagging program.

Re: Activate effects on tracks in the Mixer
You can select a track for an effect to be applied to, by clicking on the track icon in the Mixer Board. By default the track icon is the Audacity logo, unless the track name matches one of the defined instrument names (see: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/mixer_board.html) I doubt there is any ...

Re: Newbie to ACX narration
For future reference, I'd recommend recording at a sample rate of 44100 Hz. ACX require the sample rate to be 44100 Hz, so if you record in this format you avoid an unnecessary conversion step. Also, your initial recording level is a little low. Aim for around - 6dB. (Currently your recording level ...

Re: How to record 2 tracks from separate sources into 2 tracks?
I'm using version 2.0.5 and Windows 10. That's an ancient version of Audacity. You should update to the current 2.3.2 version: https://www.audacityteam.org/download/windows/ I have a weekly (pre-recorded) radio show and want to record the music track and microphone track separately so I can tidy th...

Re: Converting 24/96 to 16/44.1 - Audacity 2.0.3
Unless you are using Windows XP, you should upgrade Audacity to the current version (2.3.2) https://www.audacityteam.org/download/windows/ The instructions below are for Audacity 2.3.2. The default "sample format" in Audacity is 32-bit float. Don't change that - leave it as 32-bit float. I...

Re: Error code -9996 Invalid Device since Windows upgrade
This is the relevant Windows "Sound" control panel. The default input (red arrow) displays with a white tick in a green blob. When the input is working, you should see the associated meter (green arrows) responding to the input sound / signal.
