Re: Record from old recorder
And then I have 3 mappers in the audio and microphone. How should I choose? I'm sorry but I can't record the sound in any way. Disconnect the UCA 202 from your computer, then close and quit Audacity. Restart Audacity and write down the list of available recording and playback devices in the device ...

Re: Cannot Open Large Files
I have my import setting on: make a copy (safer); and that sounds like it would require more memory, too... The "safer" option is the default and recommended. In this case, the audio data is copied into the project data folder at the time that you import. With the "faster" optio...

Re: Compiling on Win10 problems.
There could certainly be some better instructions given here. Feel free to post some. If they are accurate and easy to follow, I'll make the post a "sticky" so that it remains at the top of this forum board. The instructions in the build.txt are indeed written by developers for developers...

Re: Error opening project
There are two parts to an Audacity project, an "AUP" file, and a "_data" folder. Example: If you save a project as "my-project", Audacity will create a file "my-project.aup" and a folder "my-project_data". Both parts are essential. The "_data&qu...

Re: Niquist ACX check nightmare
However I cannot see how I can -65 on my room tone without applying even more noise suppression and making me sound like The Predator... Have you identified where the noise is coming from? If it is predominantly computer fan noise, then a fanless portable recorder is likely to be a significant bene...

Re: Solo button malfunction
There are two alternative behaviours available. They are described here: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/tra ... .html#solo
It sounds like you are currently using the "Simple" behaviour.
It also sounds like the "multi-track" option would suit you better.

Re: Download attempts of latest Audacity fail
Just tested it here too. It downloaded very fast, just a couple of seconds.
I also tested the sha-256 checksum and that was correct, verifying that the download is complete and correct.
The sha-256 is: 351bbf5a30e65e2a77d28cf5384057bbc2b25880c682be755908307951e43b01
