Re: Batch Append Audio

Quickest and best for sound quality and least disk space: Write a "playlist file" for each. See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M3U Once you've written the first playlist, you just need to paste in the name of the relevant file for each of the others. You would then play the playlists, whic...

Re: Music through a wall

The main thing is to reduce the treble a lot, so that it sounds noticeably muffled. (High frequencies are mostly blocked by walls). Try the "Low pass Filter" - as a starting point, set the filter frequency to 1000 Hz (adjust to taste). https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/low_pass_filter.ht...

Re: Media Info doesn't match Format Options selected for Exported MP3's

Perhaps a 193 kbps vbr mp3 created in today's technology sounds as good as or better than a 256 kbps CD from years ago. It could. LAME is the only major MP3 encoder that is still being developed. Trials in more recent years indicate that for higher bit rates, modern versions of LAME produce better ...

Re: Media Info doesn't match Format Options selected for Exported MP3's

Using the old standard of "CD quality" (I thought it was 256 kbps but cannot seem to find a definitive answer), and considering the newer Audacity technology, does anyone know what minimum value for Media Info bit rate with the above settings would be equal to "CD quality"? MP3 ...

Re: X64

Note: I set my OS to windows when signing up. I set my OS to Linux when I signed up, and I build on all three supported platforms. I'm guessing that you mean that you're only interested in Windows, but I'm only guessing because we only know what you tell us. I keep hitting the 32bit memory limit Wh...

Re: X64

The 64-bit Mac build is available via the Audacity website: https://www.audacityteam.org/download/mac/ 64-bit Linux builds are available from several package maintainers, for example, 64-bit Audacity for Ubuntu 18.04 is here: https://packages.ubuntu.com/bionic/audacity Currently, Audacity makes one ...

Re: Audacity stops recording during silence

Here's everything that happens after I press record: A lot of the buttons and drop down menus on the toolbars are greyed out. The green upside-down triangle that says "Click to Pin" turns red. An audio track appears that reads (stereo, 44100Hz,32-bit float). There is a red upside down tri...

Re: X64

It can. I regularly build 64-bit Audacity.
What's your real question? Is it, "Why isn't there a 64-bit release for Windows?" or something else?

Re: Audacity stops recording during silence

This doesn't make sense. Let's go back a few steps.

When Audacity is set to record from WASAPI loopback. You press the record button, and what exactly happens?
What do you do next?
What happens then?
