Re: Macro extension: Export options
This isn't perfect because there are still some inconsistencies in how the exports act when applied to the current project, but it's a better solution than just changing the default to 24-bit. It adds two new Macro commands, " Export as WAV (24-bit) " and " Export as WAV (32-bit float...

Re: MODERATOR COMPLAINT
I am new here, and I replied to a message with a problem I'm having. After 2 days I got no replies, then realised I'd replied to an archived message, so no one was going to see it anyway. I moved your post to the Windows forum so that it would be seen. I didn't have time to reply straight away, but...

Re: An 'RMS Compressor'
If then using 'Limiter' to get all at 0db [or say, -0.1db], huge parts of the wave are lost. Not "lost" unless you use clipping. The default settings in Audacity's Limiter compress peaks. If only a few peaks are over 0 dB, then they can be compressed down to 0 dB with negligible affect on...

Re: Macro extension: Export options
What if I really want this feature as soon as possible? I could then go into the source code released on github and modify it, according to the GPL, for the one version I use locally. Is that correct? More precisely, I‘m thinking about changing the default value from 16 Bit WAVE to 24 Bit WAVE. Yes...

Re: Some flac files not recognized by Squeezebox Server
I still don't know why the dB Poweramp conversions weren't ever a problem even with various characters. As far as I'm aware, dB PowerAmp, like Audacity, is fully Unicode compliant, so it can handle just about any characters that you throw at it. "If only" all programs used UTF-8, this pro...

Re: Can't load ffmpeg libraries (yes... another one of those)
ps: Is there an Audacity release that comes bundled with ffmpeg so it works out-of-the-box? There "may" be a version in the future. The problem, as described by DVDdoug is that there may be license / patent issues with some of the codecs. If Audacity does ship FFmpeg, it will have to limi...
