I'm guessing that you are not using 2.3.3 alpha.
Which version of Audacity are you using, and on what operating system?

Re: Level meter range -59 db
Why would you want that? Probably wouldn't, though when recording you may want say -36 to 0 dB stretched full screen so that you can clearly see your peak level, and for playback you may want the meter down to -96 dB so that you can see the noise floor. Regardless of whether they are both the same ...

Re: video soundtrack time difference
I've never used OBS, but I believe it allows you to remux as MP4. Perhaps that would provide a solution?

Re: How to play intro once and then loop over rest of the song
I want to loop over a part of the song but over all (3) tracks simulteously. A selection can cover multiple tracks. See: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/audacity_selection.html If multiple tracks are selected, then any affect applied is applied to each track. In this case, every selected track ...

Re: video soundtrack time difference
Do you think this problem might be caused by OBS (screen capturing software) ? No, I think it's a "feature" of the Matroska Multimedia Container format. Video works in "frames", whereas audio works in "samples". (To complicate the matter, some video formats have variab...

Re: video soundtrack time difference
2. I downloaded an mkv video of 30mb size and mp4 video of 30mb size. I guess the MKV file was this one: https://sample-videos.com/video123/mkv/240/big_buck_bunny_240p_30mb.mkv The length of the audio in that file is 5m,13s, 472ms, but that is longer than the length of the video! Reaper (along with...

Re: compress high frequencies to lower frquencies
An interesting idea, but I don't think this is going to work. I don't know of any effects that can "compress" frequency bands in the way that you describe. I can "pitch shift" frequency bands in a similar way to what you describe, but the result is a confused and muddy mess. I th...

Re: How to play intro once and then loop over rest of the song
it's a bit inconvenient that it starts playing as soon as I select the section and after pressing stop the selection disssappears. You are "selecting" in the wrong place. If you click in the "Time Line" (the ruler above the tracks window), or make a "selection" in the ...
