Re: Audacity shut down when I use shortcut with keyboard
Try resetting your Audacity shortcuts back to default settings - they may have got messed up somehow. See: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/key ... ences.html (section about default shortcuts is near the bottom of the page).

Re: recording wiped and new drop out track has appeared - help
I can see it is a WAV file. it used to have visible indications of the recording, jagged blue lines to indicate sound, but now it is just empty. Sorry but I have no idea how that can happen. Files don't just change for no reason. If you can provide steps to reproduce the problem them maybe we will ...

Re: RMS Normalize
Does this work on Audacity 2.4.2? Because I can't seem to get it to work. All it's doing is measuring the RMS. There are no options for altering anything. The current version of Audacity is 3.0.2 (available via the Audacity website: https://www.audacityteam.org/download/ It has a built-in effect th...

Re: Macro Manager
Now lets shift our focus from Joe Pro-Studio to me mum. She's being forced into Joe's massive plugin management system just so she can install one single plugin. I suspect mum is much more likely to edit her garden party podcast than Joe is to cut the latest Cher Farewell Tour. We're focused on the...

Re: Realtime patch-thru vocal effects
I'd expect that the inserts will only work with the analog inputs of the UMC204HD.
Set the output from Audacity (via the Device Toolbar) to use your computer's on-board sound card, and connect the output from your computer's sound card to an analog input of the UMC204HD.

Re: Realtime patch-thru vocal effects
I couldn't find a proper user manual for the UMC204HD on the Behringer website (only a "Quick Start Guide"), but based on how other Behringer kit works, you will need special "insert" leads. These leads have two 1/4" mono (tip + sleeve) jack plugs connected to a "stereo...

Re: Creating two label tracks for a given wav file
In the audacity git repo are some named pipe scripts to create screenshots for documentation. One of them is a label script that creates labels like Intro or Chopin. I do not see a call to SelectTime there. What trick is used in this case? I'm not sure that all of those scripts work as intended. So...

Which version of Audacity are you using? (Look in "Audacity menu > About Audacity")

Re: unwanted 2nd track and track not starting at zero
I set up recording in mono in the Device Toolbar. (Thanks for showing me where that is.) The second track appears above my mono track that I'm recording on. Does it look like this? First Track000.png I tried to attach a screenshot, but I got a prompt that said it was too large. See here how to crea...
