Re: Audacity 2.1.1, Art USB Phono Plus, Win 7 64 bit - Sound Too LOUD (Over Cooked) on Phono

Now, I understand that I should be using the 'phono' input setting as my source is a turntable, which yields overwhelming results. The thing is, The Lingo power supply is also a phono pre-amp. A phono pre-amp boosts the signal from a turntable's cartridge, and also applies RIAA equalization (powerf...

Maybe the set up was not powerful enough to support three micro
What's your setup? Are you trying to use an aggregate device with multiple USB microphones?

Re: Selection too long for analysis by ACX check..but this never happened before

I’m not sure what a sample actually is. Unlike "analog audio", which is a continuously varying signal, "digital audio" is a series of numbers, each of which represents the amplitude at a given point in time. Each of these numbers is a "sample value", and typically they...

Re: Any Way to Recover "Orphaned Files"?

It seems like it'd be really nice if Audacity could tell Linux "I'm the captain now: don't give control of the audio to other programs". I don't think there's any way to do that, but there is quite a neat little workaround. 1) Buy a cheap USB sound card - it doesn't matter if it is rubbis...

Re: Selection too long for analysis by ACX check..but this never happened before

but why has it worked for me all these years and only now am I getting this message? Perhaps you were selecting less than 100,000,000 samples? Perhaps you were using a different plug-in? One thing I can be sure of is that this version of ACX-Check is limited to 100,000,000 samples. Do you mean eter...

Re: Selection too long for analysis by ACX check..but this never happened before

ACX-Check has a hard coded limit of 100,000,000 samples.
If your track is longer than that, you can select part of the track, analyze it, then select another part and analyze that.
To select part of a track, see: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/aud ... ction.html

Thanks. I've updated that web page to clarify that the PPA is unofficial.

Have you tried the 2.2.1 version from the main Ubuntu repository? That works fine for me.

Why would the Audacity project include a link on the official web site to that install if it's not supported and unofficial?
Where is that?

As soon as I select what is about the right area, it starts playing
You need to make the selection on the actual waveform, not in the ruler above the tracks window. See: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/aud ... ction.html

The mp3 files playback fine on my computer.
That would suggest that there's no problem with the files.

I transfer the mp3 files to my edge7 android and the volume is way too low.
Do you have any other MP3 files that you can test on that device?
