Re: Audacity did not recognize the type of file

Perhaps it's not really an MP3 file. Try uploading the file here to check the file type: https://mediaarea.net/MediaInfoOnline

See ... https ://manual.audacityteam.org/man/faq_recording_troubleshooting.html#half_volume
An alternative could be to set the device that you are recording from to "mono" in the Windows Sound control panel.

Re: Improvement of Fit to height option.

So it looks prettier. but it is less functional as you can't so easily see if there's another track below, and if there is a track below, you can't bring it into view with a single click. If you want to build your own customised version, you would need to find "void DoZoomFitV(AudacityProject ...

Re: Batch option for Clipping

In Audacity, a normal Macro is simply a list of commands.
Macros, and how to make them, is described in the manual: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/macros.html

Re: Batch option for Clipping

"Clip Fix" is available to use in a Macro in the current version of Audacity (version 2.3.2).

Please note that even with Clip Fix, it is not possible to repair badly clipped audio.
