Now this is my final code (for now - though I have some ideas for the future):
Why are you using *scratch*? (I think I can guess why, but I'm not sure "precisely" what you are intending).

Re: Multiplying mix

It's the way that I would multiply two stereo tracks. An alternative way would be to split the stereo tracks, make a new stereo track from the two left channels, and another from the two right channels, process the two stereo tracks as described by Trebor, then pan the first left, and the other righ...

Re: Multiplying mix

But how would you multiply two stereo tracks? Write the first track to disk (see: https://www.audacity-forum.de/download/edgar/nyquist/nyquist-doc/manual/part6.html#index455), then when processing the second track, read the temporary file back from disk (see: https://www.audacity-forum.de/download/...

Re: normalization across many sound clips

Create a "Macro" for batch processing. See: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/macros.html
The Macro will need to contain the "Normalize" command, and one of the "Export" commands (such as "Export as WAV").

Re: Missing Text on ALL Menus

I just downloaded and installed Audacity 2.3.2 Did you get the "Audacity 2.3.2 installer " via the Audacity website? https://www.audacityteam.org/download/windows/ If not, I'd suggest that you re-download from the links on the Audacity website (they lead to a download page on FossHub, who...

Re: Beginner: Error 9986...Help :)

If you've already got a "normal" cassette player with either "Line out" or "Aux out", then you could use a USB sound card. One of the cheapest reliable ones that gets mentioned regularly on this forum is the Behringer UCA-202 (about $30).
