Re: It won't record audio from any channel
(This seems to come up a lot. I posted an entry on this last November, which I've copied and pasted here. I hope it helps...let me know!) You could try downloading Soundflower, a freeware app that allows you to route audio between applications that don't normally "speak" to each other. I also own an...

Re: Recording off the internet
PB... Honestly, I don't know, as I've never tried to do anything like this. However, Audacity does allow for multitrack recording, so even if one cannot do what you describe all in one go, (and it may, give it a try!), one can still record the streaming internet content using Audacity w/Soundflower ...

Re: need help set up audio devices
Here's my post (below) from several months ago on a different thread, that addresses your question. It works great for me, and I just recorded a few seconds of audio coming through an internet radio station playing through iTunes by switching sound sources on the fly; it takes only seconds. If you ...

Re: Recording what's going through sound card
Koz, no I haven't tried that. At present, my only recording activities involve digitizing music from analog sources and capturing streaming audio such as internet radio, etc.

Re: Recording what's going through sound card
Let me echo Koz: Wiretap Studio is an excellent piece of software that will allow you to record anything you want on your Mac. I own it and use it as my primary means of recording on the Mac. However, I like Audacity for editing features it offers that Wiretap Studio does not, (e.g., "cut," "copy," ...

Re: Recording what's going through sound card
In Audacity preferences, look under the tab labeled "Audio I/O" and you should see four checkboxes at the bottom. The middle two checkboxes should be "Hardware Playthrough (Play new track while recording it)" and "Software Playthrough (Play new track while recording it)." In this same preference tab...

Re: Recording what's going through sound card
Oh, do you have "hardware playthrough" or "software playthrough" checked in Audacity audio preferences? When I first installed Audacity, I checked "hardware playthrough," which was suggested for Macs, but I couldn't hear any playback. I unchecked "hardware playthrough" and checked "software playthro...

Re: Recording what's going through sound card
I just reread my original post on Soundflower and Soundsource, and I see there I described the proper Audacity preference settings. Assuming you have your preferences set as described, I don't know what else to suggest at the moment. If anything occurs to me I'll add a comment.
