Re: Mouse speed very slow in selecting recorded audio and recording is jumpy on the screen - any idea why?
Have you done the speed/health tests? When was the last time you defragmented this machine? Never? Is all your recording done from the internet? Does this machine have the same internet speeds that the other one does? Are you connecting via WiFi? How many others are trying to jam into the same serv...

Re: Mouse speed very slow in selecting recorded audio and recording is jumpy on the screen - any idea why?
Hello kozikowski, Both machines are identical as they have the same processor. The only difference is that the first machine has an Nvidia GT610 video card. I always close down all background processes, defrag the hard drive and an error check on the drive before I record on this machine. So is it a...

Re: Mouse speed very slow in selecting recorded audio and recording is jumpy on the screen - any idea why?
Steve, Made a test recording. Mouse moves very erratically across the screen on a live recording. On playback however, everything is fine and the recording plays back fine. There might be a second missing here and there because of the jumpiness of the mouse. Makes no sense that it's all erratic when...

Re: Mouse speed very slow in selecting recorded audio and recording is jumpy on the screen - any idea why?
Hi Steve.
PC specs.
32GB of RAM.
2.6Ghz Duo Core processor.
Display - NVidia G710 with 2GB of RAM.
I've unticked the overdub option.
Does that make any difference?
Thanks.

Mouse speed very slow in selecting recorded audio and recording is jumpy on the screen - any idea why?
Hi. Using the latest version of Audacity. 2.4.2. This issue doesn't manifest itself on one of my PCs and I regularly use it to edit audio mp3s and WAV files using Audacity. The mouse literally glides across the screen when I select an audio waveform file on the screen to select and edit any section ...

Audacity query - mixing music with speech?
Hi everyone, Good morning. I am using Audacity version 2.0.6 on Windows 8.1. Obtained using the zip file. I am looking to make a short demo of a podcast for a radio show. This demo of my voice will be 5 minutes long. Now, the first thing I need is a good quality microphone. Is this one any good? "Be...

How to re-save lots of WAV files?
Hello everyone. Good morning. I have been working on saving some radio shows which I had saved as projects as well as their associated WAV files. That's all well with no problem. I am using Audacity 2.0.5 on Windows XP Pro with a Dual Core 2.6Ghz processor with 4GB of RAM. This morning, I connected ...

Re: Is it possible to run a script?
Hi steve Good evening. Thanks for the prompt reply. I have done some of my own tinkering with Audaremote and it seems to work well with Audacity 2.0.5 running under Windows XP. The thing I have noticed is that if I minimise this application, it does not work. If I run/dock it in the corner, all work...

Re: Is it possible to run a script?
There is a Timer Record facility already built into Audacity - it is available from the Transport menu, it works well I use it a lot. See this page in the manual: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/timer_record.html Unfortunately this is only a single-event timer right now - there is a long-stand...

Is it possible to run a script?
Hi everyone. Good morning. I am using Audacity 2.0.5 (the exe installer) in Windows XP to record DAB radio via the Line-In blue port on my PC with a 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable. This all works perfectly though. The PC is brand new and only a few months old. It's a Dual-Core G620 processor running at 2.6Ghz...
