OK- I have narrowed my problem down to the core issue. 1.2.6 Thank you for the tip Yes, it plays in Audacity and Quicktime but not iTunes As for the weekend, oh well. The original recordings were pulled from a reel to reel by someone who did not have the ability to digitally edit so there are pops and 5-10 seconds of lead time...mostly at the beginning....

Also, I am using a PowerBook G4 version 10.3.9 with tons of memory and RAM. I do not know the Audacity version because the "about" is not highlighted and won't let me click on it. But I am sure it is a few years old anyway. Do not think it is a Beta version but not sure.

If I play it in Quicktime, it plays the re-recorded tune. What I did to most was just clip the extra noise at the beginning and end of the song to make a clean recording for the CD.
