Re: Recording in a space with air conditioning / (ceiling) f

Hi All,

Thanks for the advice!

I have been playing with a high-pass filter as well (steep roll-off at 50 Hz.). That seems to work fairly well, but I'll try the filter mentioned.

Regards,
peter

Re: tuning suggestions for singing..plez..

Hi,

It might be a good idea to explain to us (specifically) what you want to accomplish.

To be honest, from the subject I got the impression that you have trouble keeping your voice in tune :-)

Recording in a space with air conditioning / (ceiling) fans.

Hi All, I make recordings using 2 Oktava MK-012 microphones, connected to a Edirol UA-25EX. I obviously use Audacity too :-) The problem is that many of the places where I record have air conditioners or (ceiling) fans running constantly and at full capacity. Both generate quite a bit of air flow th...

Hi All, Peter: As you've probably noticed, if you ask three recording engineers about recording techniques, you'll get three different answers! :D -- Bill Well, at least the information I got from all of you makes sense and is very useful. My real hobby is audio (I design and build loudspeakers). Wh...

Re: Stage recording advice...

Hi Koz, Do you know the these floor recording "sleves" are still available? I have spend quite a bit of time looking online for them, but I only can find a few lines in a google online book... The idea interests me because (apart from canceling floor-reflections)I think an on-stage microphone-stand ...

Re: Problem recording elec piano

Hi Koz, Using an un-earthed power supply (or cord) is *not* a hazard by definition. Unless you are talking about kitchen appliances, dish washers, washing machines or something like that. Or if you are using badly designed electrical devices that allow you to come into contact with conducting parts....

Re: Problem recording elec piano

Hi, Did you try any other devices to record on your computer? I know from experience that on-board sound cards are usually of poor quality, and often are sensitive to all kinds of outside influences. If your piano can not be put in the same room as your computer, perhaps it' possible to try it the o...

Re: Stage recording advice...

Hello Koz, I have heard about the technique you mentioned. I tried to find some more info online, but this time Google was not my best friend. Also, the manufacturer's website did not mention the stagemouse anymore... Maybe I will try to produce something similar out of a soft foam and experiment wi...

Re: Stage recording advice...

Hello Bill, First of all: thanks for your input! I am a complete "newbie" with regards to recording techniques. But luckily I am a fast learner :-) :-) :-) I started looking for mics about 6 months ago. Mostly on the Internet, but that turned out to be a "can not find the forest because of all the t...

Stage recording advice...

Hi All, I want to make decent recordings of my fiancé performing together with a friend (piano and trumpet) for the purpose of making a demo-CD. They will perform in small to mid-size university concert halls. I use an Asus EEE PC 901, Edirol UA-25EX USB soundbox, Octava MK-012 microphones (matched ...
