Re: 1.3.9 Beta Segmentation fault on loading in Ubuntu Jaunt
So, short form, completely deleting as far as I could the previous shrink-wrapped version of audacity, and then working through mysterious dependancy hassles related to libraries that I thought were included in the CVS (q.v. http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=14071&start=0 ) allowed ...

Re: Audacity 1.3.9b require specific version of automake?
Gloriosky, Sandy, that may have worked in some fashion not entirely clear at the moment. I had somehow leaped to the conclusion that since libmad et al. was included in the audacity package from CVS, that would naturally include the needed development files. And maybe it does and my system was just ...

Re: 1.3.9 Beta Segmentation fault on loading in Ubuntu Jaunt

In trying to compile the CVS version under Kubuntu Jaunty, I get configure errors from, e.g., libmad, complaining about an automake directive something about AM_INIT_AUTOMAKE(-Wall foreign) being unrecognized. The current Ubuntu level for automake seems ...

Re: 1.3.9 Beta Segmentation fault on loading in Ubuntu Jaunt
Oh, yes, and I should add to this that when I try to build Audacity 1.3.9b on the not-working system using KDevelop, so I can see what I'm doing, it whines about the following "declared but undefined" functions in bitbuffer.h NO_DLL_INLINE void buffer_put1bit (bit_stream *, int); NO_DLL_INLINE void ...

1.3.9 Beta Segmentation fault on loading in Ubuntu Jaunty
Oh piffle. Didn't notice that there was a separate group for compiling and posted this in unstable by mistake. Oh, well. I deleted the duplicate post in the wrong bit of the forum for you - to avoid this thread diverging - Waxcylinder This is interestingly inconsistent, and I wondered if anyone reco...
