Re: stereo export
I think this has to do with your import settings. Are you asking it to record two channels (or however many you are sending ito Audacity? Also, there are various settings such as solo, mute, and split that you seem to be mucking up in some way (or have set incorrectly). WHEN IN DOUBT READ THE DIRECT...
Re: saving
Koz is 100% right. But you could also import the audio and save it all as Audacity files. It uses up a ton more memory, but it opens faster in Audacity. This is why people buy really good audio editing and processing programs, by the way. Nothing wrong with Audacity, but the $$ programs do more, do ...

Re: Find Zero Crossings doesn't work properly
I am guessing (repeat: GUESSING) that the problem may be with the waveform drawing capabilities of Audacity as you have it set up. As I remember, there is some (memory-eating) thing in there that gives you more and more accurate waveforms. Try it. What can you lose? Do you actually hear any differen...

Re: Recording streaming audio
Pennywhistler, Thanks for your suggestions and I appreciate your interest. I will give them a try, once I get some time. I always like "free" rather than "pay". And I'm glad that I won't need to upgrade my OS X. Regards. Jonathan Glad to help. I found WireTap Pro 10.2 a long time ago and stored a s...

Re: Recording internet radio
how do I set it up to record the BBC "My Word" from WHRO streaming next Saturday? Koz First of all, you buy Audio Hijack or WireTap Studio, which both have that unattended timer-record function for Macs. Second, you find out which stations let you listen to MY WORD and try to schedule your life aro...

Re: Recording internet radio
how do I remove a sound snip that I was able to record. I searched for it but cannot actually find it. And there 's no "delete" button under file where I might expect it to be. Go to your desktop and open the "FIND" program. Look for any word that might be in the title and/or help you find the file...

Re: Recording internet radio
You want to record on the fly? Use WireTap 1.0.
You want to set it up for day / time / station? Pay for Audio Hijack or WireTap Studio. And learn how to use it.

Re: converting WAVE or AIFF file to MP3
Audacity will open both, but the missing step is converting anything to AIFF. For that you need QuickTime Pro which has export and translation tools. There may be a way to do that in iTunes, but I was never comfortable with how that works. Koz You lost me on that that, koz. The guy doesn't want to ...

Re: Audacity on Intel Macs
Steve, in the old days you used to take your headshell & cartridge down to the nice man in the hifi shop - and he would examine it for you for signs of wear to tell you if it needed replacing or not - these days that kinda service has long gone in most places, sadly. Try your local hip-hop (or what...

Re: Audacity on Intel Macs
It is my 'umble opinion that the click and pop feature on Audacity is good ..... for a free program. It won't detect -- or clean up -- crackle, however. If you are trying to squeeze the best sound out of your records and have a lot of clean-up work to do, you need: a) a good record-cleaning machine,...
