Re: Audacity or Reaper
Ok...so if I go into the settings for my soundcard I might be able to set that up? >>I believe that the Line6 Pocket Pod has been primarily designed to work with ASIO drivers, so the functionality with standard Windows drivers (which Audacity uses) may be limited.<< In that case, would I be better o...

Re: Audacity or Reaper
1) use hardware monitoring rather than Audacity's s/w monitoring - this normally is only applicable if you have an external soundcard with a headphone socket - or a headphone socket on your amp. 2) Upgrade to 1.3 where new tools have been added to mangage and compensate for latency. See this articl...

Re: Audacity or Reaper
>>No he means t'other way around Right, got it. Think I understand. With Audacity you can add effects then remove them. With reaper you can add effects but they are permanent. I'm hoping to record most things with the effects already in place, so that doesn't really make any difference to me. No he ...

Re: Audacity or Reaper
By editing audio do you mean altering the sound once it's been recorded, applying effects etc? I'm going to sound stupid here- but what exactly is ASIO? I thought it was something to do with USB inputs for audio (which I wont be using- the pocket pod doesn't have a usb line out, so I'm putting the o...

Audacity or Reaper
Hi, Quite new to recording using the computer, not to bothered about a professional finish but want to record a decent guitar sound. My method of recording would be this, ideally- put together a drum track, import it into a programme as a track, then record various guitar tracks and vocal tracks ove...

Re: Audacity/Native Instruments Guitar Combo/USB ASIO
>Record with the supplied software and then save or export the recording in WAV format.< I've thought of doing that, and it should work. However, I only seem to be able to record the 'dry' sound of the guitar, i.e. the sound coming out of the guitar lead rather than what is coming out of the effects...

Audacity/Native Instruments Guitar Combo/USB ASIO
I bought a Behringer USB/Guitar interface today, and have spent most of the day mucking about with the software, as I want to use the software as digital amplification for my guitar, to then record it using Audacity. I have a particular problem that someone might be able to help with. The ASIO USB i...
