There is a factory installed sound card. However, I did go in to the set up function and disabled it. I'm getting sound from other applications, just not from Audacity.

Jademan, The version of Windows is XP - Media Center Edition. The initial version that I installed was 1.0. Presuming this may not be the most current version, I downloaded 1.2.6 from the manufacturer, still no luck. Within the control panel the default playback (and recording device) is set to C-Me...

2 RCA outs from the tape deck into a splitter that combined both sources for the sound card jack.
