Re: Stero mix in Vista? For streaming audio recording
I was in luck! It looks like the sound card had that option, but it was disable for some reason. It was even invisible. That seems awfully weird. I wonder if that's intentional on Microsoft's part. Anyway, that first link provided a quick & easy "How To". Thanks again! This was always a key feature ...

Re: Stero mix in Vista? For streaming audio recording
Thanks guys. It looks like I need to do a bit of reading.
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. The links are greatly appreciated as well.
Hopefully I can "Get 'er done" before the Saturday game.

Stero mix in Vista? For streaming audio recording
I've absolutely loved recording radio broadcasts, primarily sports related, with Audacity in Windows XP. I use it as a form of DVR where I can record a game, or a post game interview and listen to it later. Or watch on TV & hear what the radio announcers were saying later. I just inherited a Vista l...

Re: pasting a clip into a track?
Thanks stevethefiddle.
I've never used the split-cut, nor the envelope or cross fader before. That looks like a useful set of tools and I'll check that out tomorrow.
I appreciate the tips.

Re: pasting a clip into a track?
Thank you. I hadn't noticed that "silence" option in the Edit drop down menu. I had been using a little more complicated attempt at that by using the "Effect" menu > Amplify & then dragging the slider down to zero. It does look like I'm getting the same minor problem, however, of getting a little cl...

pasting a clip into a track?
Hello, I've been using Audacity to record little clips to be inserted into an Open Office "Impress" presentation. It's pretty simple stuff, just "sight words" for my daughter who's in kindergarten. It's a fun way for my kids to read the words for her. The first slide will show the word, after she sa...

Re: 1.3.4 used to work. won't open. reinstalled-still won't
The first thing that I would try, is resetting Audacity 1.3.4 by deleting the configuration file. The file is called "audacity.cfg" and its default location is: Documents and Settings <user name> Application DataAudacity audacity.cfg Audacity will create a fresh configuration file when you next sta...

1.3.4 used to work. won't open. reinstalled-still won't open
Hi, I've used 1.2.6, then 1.3.3 and updated to 1.3.4 some time ago with no major issues other than an occasional crash. Yesterday, however, I was unable to load 1.3.4. It shows in the taskbar at the bottom of the screen but I cannot ever open it to use it. Right clicking on the icon in the taskbar d...

Re: Recording Phone calls
It looks like Google has a beta version of "Grand Central" available now that will allow one to record phone calls. http://www.grandcentral.com/howitworks/call_record It is by invitation only, but I applied today and received an invitation today as well. It has some pretty slick features, and I don'...

Re: Removing Labels
Thanks from me too. I had been wondering how to do that and have some recordings with multiple old labels and others where I deleted the label track & started over.
