Re: Recording voice with USB

Yes, you can, but you could equally just use the mic input on your computer. The "technical data" section on the manufacturer's website is conspicuously lacking in technical detail for that device, but I would imagine that it expects a standard computer microphone as an input, which is the same as t...

Re: can't find the mp3 I exported

Probably the simplest way to find it is to go through the motions of exporting another file: Start Audacity. Click Project > New Audio Track (This will be an empty track, but we need it so Audacity thinks there is something to export) Click File > Export as MP3 You will get a window titled "Save MP3...

Re: Editing iTunes Files in Audacity

You can make life easier for yourself by recording from the ION with Audacity, and skipping the EZ Vinyl and iTunes steps. Take a look at these articles from the wiki. http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Transferring_tapes_and_records_to_computer_or_CD and http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/USB_turntab...

Re: Recording Way too Loud

The tape deck is connected by a Y connector Line in Its connected to the microphone jack. That's where the problem is. The mic jack is intended for a tiny, mono, microphone signal and you are sending it a big powerful stereo line-level signal from the tape deck. Unless you are one of the lucky few ...

Re: Recording Way too Loud

We need to know a bit more about your setup to be able to help you. All we know so far is that you are using Windows Vista. What model tape player are you using? (I assume it's not the ION) What type of computer have you, and how is the tape player connected to the computer? (line-out sockets? USB?)...

Re: Help! Karaoke / Sing-a-long Question

In Audacity version 1.3.x, there is an effect called Vocal Remover which attempts to remove the vocals from an audio track and leave the accompaniment. It hardly ever works the way people expect it to, because the original track has to fulfil several conditions for it to work properly, but in your c...

Re: .wav download

You can use Audacity to do what you want. Here's how: 1. Import each sentence as a separate track into Audacity. There is no theoretical limit to the number of tracks you can have. 2. Use the time-shift tool (The double-headed arrow) to move the second and subsequent tracks along the timeline so tha...

Re: .wav download

A playlist is just a list that tells a media player what tracks to look for and where to look for them. It doesn't contain any audio and Audacity won't recognise it.

You will have to import each WAV file separately into Audacity.
