Re: Help !

Now that the Crate has come into the picture, you can do a test to tell you for definite if your CD/Tape output is working. Unplug the Main Out connectors on the mixer and connect the CD/Tape Output to the CD input on the Crate. You should be able to hear yourself play. (You may need to get a new ca...

Re: Vista 64 bit

When you connect a USB device, your computer hands over both the input and output of your sound setup to the USB device, unless you tell it otherwise.
Go to Edit > Preferences > Audio I/O, and set the playback device to your computer's sound card.

Re: Microphone Input Volume mutes my sound! Cannot fix?

I have a headset microphone (logitech USB headset) I am using a usb audio interface to connect the microphone (and sometimes guitar) to my computer. When you connect a USB device, Audacity hands over control of the sound levels to the USB device. The only control you have over the levels is whateve...

Re: Help !

@ bonerpoteet Things are getting a little confused here, so let's take one thing at a time: When you sing / play, do any of the green or yellow LEDs on the right-hand side of the mixer light up? (Ignore the computer and Audacity for the moment). If they do, there is a good chance you are getting an ...

Re: No Stereo!

What's the make and model number of your USB adaptor/sound card? Do you have the spec. or instruction manual for it, and does it definitely say it has a stereo input? Most USB sound cards use RCA sockets, not 1/8" jacks for stereo inputs, and the fact that it says mic-in suggests that it is, in fact...

Re: Recording in stereo

when I take the same output into the computer microphone socket That's the problem. The microphone jack is a mono input, so what you are getting is a mono performance duplicated on both tracks. If your computer is a desktop PC, then it should have a stereo line-in jack, but most laptops only have a...

Re: Problem with getting LAME download to work

After you have downloaded lame_enc.dll you still have to tell Audacity where to find it. Go to Edit > Preferences > File Formats > MP3 Export Setup and click on "Find Library". Click "Yes" to the question "Would you like to locate Lame_enc.dll now?" and browse to the file in the window that appears....

Re: Help !

May not be getting out put from the mixer. I'm not getting the columns of green and yellow Turn the Trim control for each channel to at least half-way, and the fader at the bottom to near max. Bring up the main mix fader to max, and sing or play. This will tell you if you are getting an output, but...
