Re: exported mp3 file that won't play

Are you using a cassette player that's connected to the computer via USB? When you connect a USB device, the computer hands over the sound pathways, in both directions, to the USB device, so it is trying to play back through the cassette player. In Windows Control Panel > Sounds and Audio > Audio ta...

Re: LAME MP3 Exporter

There's one more step in the Lame installation process; you need to tell Audacity where the lame_enc.dll file is. Click Edit > Preferences > File Formats > Find Library Click "Yes" to the dialog box that asks "Would you like to locate lame_enc.dll now?" Browse to the folder where you put the file an...

Re: Exporting .wav files

Re: Blue Forum Header

I'll second that; both manuals, and possibly the wiki home page as well. It would be very handy to have links to all the information together in one place.

Re: Problems with playing back Audacity

If you click on Edit > Preferences > File Formats, and check the box that says "Make a copy of the file before editing (safer)", Audacity will copy the original file and save the audio as part of the project. Otherwise it just uses the original file while it is working, but doesn't keep the audio fr...

Please don't double-post. It confuses things for those who want to help you, and won't get your question answered any faster.

See my answer to your other post.

Re: Change Tempo as a Function of Time

This effect is available in version 1.3. In the Effect Menu, click on "Sliding Time Scale / Pitch Shift". If you don't have version 1.3, the latest release, 1.3.11, is available here: http://audacityteam.org/download/ You can have both 1.2 and 1.3 installed on your computer, but you can only have on...

Re: Help !

So, I gather that the output on the mixer is the problem? That looks like it. However, before you spend money on repairs, there is an alternative you could try. There is a headphone output on the mixer, marked PHONES/CTRL, which you can use to connect to the NADY instead of the CD/Tape Output. It a...
