....but now I'm having the same problem as bfore This problem? http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=21768&p=73575#p68960 If it is the same then, in Windows Control Panel, Sounds and Audio Devices, there should be an option called something like "Noise Cancellation" or "Noise Rediction...

Re: Workflow to take Audacity Projects to AAC in iTunes
It's not the same situation, but the answer to your question is yes. When you apply inverse RIAA, you are amplifying the high frequencies by up to 20dB, (and cutting the low frequencies by a similar amount). To avoid clipping, you need to make sure that the signal level, before you apply the equalis...

Re: Moving Tracks and Keeping Rhythm
I can't find any display that shows measures There isn't one. If you have recorded with a click track, then you will have a good idea of where the beats are, and if the music has a strong beat, you can usually see it in the waveform, but the only way to find the exact beginning of a measure is to z...

Re: Info in Export Multiple
Assuming you are exporting based on a label track, give your labels the names "01 <track-name 1>", "02 <track-name 2>" etc. Then when you select Export Multiple, Tick the box that says "Name files using label/track names". See this page from the manual; http://manual.audacityteam.org/index.php?title...

Re: Limit on size/length of recording?
In theory, no. BUT... While Audacity will handle very long recordings, at some stage you will want to export the recording as an audio file, and Windows places a practical limit on the file size it can handle. A "standard" WAV file (44100Hz, 16-bit stereo) uses 700MB per hour, and Windows will not h...

Re: Installed on OS-X, Cannot save project?
You need to have at least one audio track (recorded or imported) in the project window for those menus to become active.

Re: Why is my input signal clipping?
Mic goes through an old casette recorder equipped with mic inputs (yes I know this sounds rather crappy but it was a good recorder at the time) and outputs either on line output or on headphone output to line input of my pc. I'm fairly sure you are overloading the input stage on the cassette record...

Re: Multiple Export meta tags
Yes, in the Metadata editing window, fill in the fields you want as default values and click "Set Default"
Those valuse will appear each time the editing window opens. If you want, you can Save the values as a template in an XML file, which you can load again in a new project.

Re: EDITING QUESTION/WAVEFORM
If you set the recording mode on the Olympus to PCM (i.e. WAV format) at 44.1kHz, 16-bit, it will produce WAV files that you can transfer to your computer and import into Audacity. There should be no need to play the file on the Olympus and record in Audacity, as you are doing. When you do open the ...

Yes. What the Time Shift tool will do is allow you to select a portion of audio and pull it backwards or forwards in time, by any amount, so that it ends up exactly where you want it.mudrubble wrote:I haven't tried the Time Shift Tool, but that will usually allow you to get it back in synch?
