Re: Submit your EQ Curves

Gale, Martyn, Thanks for the feedback. Martyn, I think from the line numbers you quoted that you got an earlier version of the plug-in. There is a later version here , which has an improved UI and help, but the same basic code. It also has a combined "78EQ plus RIAA cancellation" feature which I thr...

Is it just my eyes, or does Doktor_Teeth's second picture show the DC offset in the Right channel at -1?
If that's the case how does it square with the offset in the first picture at almost +1?

Re: "Wave Stats" plug-in

I get the same effect, running on Windows XP, but it is not related to Audacity or the specific plug-in. What happens is that Windows generates a tone when the pop-up window opens, as part of its "Sound Scheme". You should be able to change it, or turn it off, in the "Sounds and Audio Properties" se...

Re: Win7 can't find USB turntable; Line-In is fine...

If the computer is recognising the USB input, then the only thing between that and Audacity is the sound card driver software. If, as you say, you have the latest drivers, and you've gone through all the sound card settings, I don't know what else to suggest ... A thought occurs to me, and this is p...

This is where the "hidden menu" was discussed.

Re: Muting internal speaker while recording

One option is to get a pair of powered external speakers, something like these:
http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=257324
They will cost anything from about €10/$10 upwards.

You can leave the computer's volume level turned up and control the volume on the speakers themselves.

Re: Error message.

Firstly, you should be using the 1.3.12. Audacity 1.2 does not work well with Windows 7. Then you need to go to the Windows Control Panel to enable the input that you want to use. Audacity is completely dependent on the computer's sound system for its inputs. See this page from the wiki: http://wiki...

Re: Ummm... I'm just asking

For Windows 7, you should be using Audacity 1.3.12. See here:

and click on the link that says "Audacity Beta"

Re: Cannot Record - Getting No Input Signal

If Audacity is seeing the USB device then it looks as though the signal is not getting from the mixer to the USB card. Usb sound card connected to laptop, phono leads from sound card to mixer. Two sets of phono leads? I can play music from my laptop to the speakers via the mixer so I know I've got t...
