Audacity Forum

I have an m-audio delta 66 audio card. When I use Audacity, everything I record, no matter what input I select, maxes out at half volume and in order to make it full volume I have to use the amplify effect. Is there a setting to change this? Why is it recording everything at a maximum of half volume?
