Re: Expand Audacity
Meanwhile I found another bug: If the -saveAs and -open parameters are the same (which means that the opened file is saved under its own name), the replaced file seems to be empty. Surprisingly I can avoid emptyness of the saved file by normalizing on load. I thought that problem had been addressed...

Re: Generate Tone + Generate Noise
I depends on where the focus was before the second generate (and maybe even on the pref Tracks > Select all audio in project, even if none selected ). (With the pref de-selected -- OFF ) the first Generated audio is completely selected after creation and the enclosing track has focus. Effects, by de...

Re: Hard drive space vanishing after project?
Both of these locations (temp & AutoSave) should have nothing in them. The next step is to start Audacity and select menu File > Save Project As... ; when the Save As dialog opens make a note of exactly what location was last used (this is the folder the dialog defaults to showing). Using Window...

Re: Hard drive space vanishing after project?
Look in your Audacity Temp folder and make sure it is empty, you may find it by looking in Preferences: tempo.png Now look in the AutoSave folder, it can be found in the same location as the audacity.cfg settings file. The location depends, look here: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Preferences#s...

Re: Cross-Fade (revisited)
Thanks Steve! Major improvement. Some thoughts... Currently, Cross Fade In/Out are useless to me. I like the idea of combining cross fade into a single dialog, but... From a GUI standpoint: While discoverable, the "Show Help" in the "Select Action" drop down is not user friendly;...

Re: Audacity "not responding" with Windows 7
Edgar, the version is 1.3.13 - beta. Is there a better option for me? There may well be. 1.3.13-beta (I think) had a bug which causes similar "not responding" slowdowns. Some improvements to this have been made and are available in 1.3.14-alpha which you may obtain here: http://wiki.audac...

Re: Audacity "not responding" with Windows 7
Additionally, it would help to have the full version number of the Audacity you are running. It has three numerical parts, alpha/beta and a build date; you may get it by selecting menu item Help > About Audacity... and it will look something like:

Re: Expand Audacity
Sorry, I chose the wrong english word: I meant " commented out the DDE connection" (it was "uncommented" before). I was aware of the (un)comment "typo" but my concern remains about commenting out those lines. There are serious but subtle problems when multiple copies o...

Re: Orphaned Blockfiles
Hi David! I have very limited time to spend on here, but i want to help the cause any way I can. Every little bit of help is welcome! Just remember, we want to see Log files but you must save them before you close a Project because they are not cumulative--every time you exit the Log file (with the ...
